1) About 1 in 2000 babies have some sort of intersex conditions. Do we
have a responsibility to ensure that we are not promoting the
stigmatization of these children and that we are not helping to hinder
these children’s concept of a valuable self? How can we as members of
society help to ensure that intersexual children, like any other
children, are not hindered in living to their maximum potential?
Understanding that genitals do not make a person, how do we need to
change our thinking so that our children do not feel like freaks or
outcasts?
2) What are the roles and limits of women in our society and who
decides them? When does biology end and culture begin? Can biology and
culture ever be mutually exclusive? Is complete equality between the
sexes ever an achievable goal? If not, where do we draw the line? If
so, how close are we to achieving it?
3) Can a society ever be charged with fostering poverty? Can this ever
be a valid claim? What responsibility does society have towards its
less fortunate members? What is the extent of this responsibility, if
any?
